Six days from Aqaba is the Aqaba-arrival itinerary at its most complete. This Hajjat Tours program opens on the Red Sea, moves immediately into the desert wilderness of Wadi Rum, and then traces an unhurried path north through Jordan’s most extraordinary destinations — the ancient Nabataean landscapes of Dana, the living heritage of Amman, the UNESCO-listed town of As-Salt, the Dead Sea, and Petra. It is a journey that goes beyond the standard Jordan circuit and introduces layers of natural, cultural, and historical experience that most visitors never reach.

The standout addition on this itinerary is Dana Biosphere Reserve — Jordan’s largest nature reserve, a dramatic landscape of cliffs, canyons, and traditional stone villages perched above the Wadi Araba. A two-hour guided hike through Dana is included, offering an immersive encounter with both Jordan’s extraordinary natural environment and its rural community life. Combined with the Wadi Rum desert experience, the UNESCO heritage of As-Salt, and a full visit to Petra, this itinerary covers Jordan’s breadth rather than just its headline acts.

Hajjat Tours has been operating Jordan programs since 2003, and every element of this itinerary — from the Dana hike to the hotel selections to the airport assistance — reflects that depth of local knowledge. This is Jordan for travelers who want more than a checklist.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Aqaba – Wadi Rum

Your journey with Hajjat Tours begins at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, where our representative will meet and assist you through arrivals and transfer you directly to Wadi Rum. The contrast is immediate and intentional — within an hour of landing, you are in a UNESCO-listed desert of red sand plains, towering sandstone massifs, and ancient rock inscriptions that stretch back thousands of years. Arriving in the late afternoon, you’ll settle into your Bedouin camp for a traditional dinner beneath a sky that genuinely warrants the word extraordinary. Overnight in Wadi Rum.

Day 2Wadi Rum – Dana Biosphere Reserve

The morning begins in the silence of Wadi Rum — take the time to absorb the desert before the road heads north. The destination today is Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan’s largest protected nature area, where the landscape shifts dramatically from open desert to rugged highland terrain. Dana sits at the edge of a dramatic escarpment, its traditional stone village clinging to the clifftop above a deep canyon that descends toward the Wadi Araba below.
The two-hour guided hike included in this itinerary takes you through the reserve’s extraordinary terrain — past juniper trees, dramatic geological formations, and endemic wildlife found nowhere else in the region — while a local guide shares the story of the land, the village, and the community that has lived here for generations. It is one of the most grounding and distinctive experiences in Jordan, and one that very few classical itineraries include. Overnight in Dana.

Day 3 Amman City Tour – Jerash – Ajloun

After breakfast, the road heads north to Amman — Jordan’s capital and one of the most welcoming cities in the Middle East. Begin with a city tour: the Citadel (Jabal al-Qal’a), with its Temple of Hercules and sweeping views over the city’s hillsides; the Roman Theatre, a 6,000-seat amphitheatre still standing in remarkable condition in the heart of downtown; and the vibrant Al-Balad neighbourhood, where markets, bakeries, and traditional coffee shops give Amman its daily character.
Continue north to Jerash — one of the most complete Roman provincial cities in the world — walking through Hadrian’s Arch into the Oval Plaza and along the colonnaded Cardo Maximus past the Temple of Artemis and two ancient theatres. Then on to Ajloun, where the 12th-century castle of Qal’at Ar-Rabad sits on a forested hilltop commanding views across the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman for overnight.

Day 4Amman – As-Salt – Dead Sea

After breakfast, travel to As-Salt — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Jordan’s most underappreciated towns. The Harmony Trail is a walking route through the Ottoman-era old city that tells the story of As-Salt’s remarkable tradition of Muslim-Christian coexistence — visible in the shared architecture, the public squares, and the way the town has been lived in and cared for across generations. It is a quieter, more reflective kind of history, and all the more affecting for it.
From As-Salt, continue to the Dead Sea — the lowest point on Earth at 430 metres below sea level. Float effortlessly in the hypersaline mineral-rich waters, apply the famous shoreline mud, and unwind at your resort as the hills of the West Bank settle into the late afternoon light. Overnight at the Dead Sea.

Day 5Dead Sea – Petra – Aqaba

After breakfast, the road heads south to Petra — one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter through the Siq, the narrow winding sandstone canyon that builds in drama for over a kilometre before delivering one of the most breathtaking moments in travel: the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), its 40-metre rose-red carved facade emerging from the rock with a grandeur that continues to astonish. Beyond the Treasury, the ancient Nabataean city spreads out — tombs, temples, a colonnaded street, a Roman theatre, and monuments that reward every extra hour you can give them.
In the late afternoon, the road continues south to Aqaba on the Red Sea for a final overnight — a warm, coastal ending to a full and deeply rewarding day. Overnight in Aqaba.

Day 6Aqaba – Departure

A final morning at leisure in Aqaba — the Red Sea, the waterfront, a long breakfast, or simply the pleasure of a journey that covered more of Jordan than most travelers ever see. Hajjat Tours will arrange your transfer to King Hussein International Airport for departure.
