9 Days 8 Nights

  • Day 1: Arrival – Amman – Amman city tour – Amman:

    Upon disembarking craft, you will go through halls till the immigration area, where you will meet our representative who will be holding a board sign of your name, he will lead you through procedures and deliver you to the coach.

    Depart to the Old City in Amman to visit two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city; The Citadel & the Roman Theatre. 

    Transfer to Amman hotel for overnight.

  • Day 2: Amman – Desert Castles – Shummari RSCN Reserve - Azraq Wetland reserve

    After breakfast leave Amman and drive to Qasr Amra & Al Kharrana of the desert castles.

    If Shaumari Wildlife Reserve is open, you will visit this as well.

    Continue on to Azraq Wetland Reserve, a lot of migrating birds stop by this reserve, Take the afternoon for birding, spot birds such as: Great Crested , Grebe, Great White Pelican, Great Cormorant, Gray Heron, Night Heron, Squacco Heron, Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Shelduck, Malllard, Tufted Duck, Golden Eagle, Chukar, Sand Partridge, Common Crane, Spotted Crake, Moorhen, Black-Winged Stilt, Pied Avocet, Stone Curlew, Northern Lapwing, Spur-winged Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Ruff, Pin-Tailed Sand grouse, Spotted Sand grouse and many more.

    Lunch boxes are included for today.

    Overnight at Azraq lodge

  • Day 3: Azraq – Safawi – Azraq wetland reserve – Kerak – Dana:

    Today we will explore the unique Basalt desert (As Safawi), situated north of Azraq. Here is the home of the local morph of the Mourning Wheatear – the Basalt Wheatear.

    Other species we will look for are Bar-tailed Desert Lark, Temminck`s Horned Lark, Thick-billed Lark, Desert Wheatear and Trumpeter Finch.

    Head south to the ancient Crusader castle of Kerak and explore the maze of stone-vaulted halls and passages. Kerak was the capital of Moab, and its castle dominates the skyline. The Crusaders castle provides an impressive insight into the architectural and military skills of the Crusaders.

    Proceed to Dana for overnight in Rommana Camp

  • Day 4: Dana – Dana village – Shobak – Little Petra:

    Breakfast

    In Dana we expect Tristrams Serin, Chuckar and raptors including Bonelli`s Eagle, Barbary and Sooty falcon, Griffon Vulture etc..
    Head off to Shobak castle before continuing to Little Petra

    Montréal is a Crusader castle on the eastern side of the Arabah, perched on the side of a rocky, conical mountain, looking out over fruit trees below.
    Short drive to Petra – a unique monument of the human civilization. Being an ancient trading capital of the Nabataean people, it was later abandoned and rediscovered again in 1812. It is also a wonderful site for birding and here we shall look for the Sinai Rosefinch, Fan-tailed Raven, Brown-necked Raven, Tristram`s Starling or Grackle and many raptors including the Steppe Eagle. In the evening we will also look for the elusive Humes Tawny Owl.

  • Day 5: Petra – Monastery – Wadi rum:

    Petra Visit after Breakfast

    The ancient city of Petra is one of Jordan’s national treasures and by far its best known tourist attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site Much of Petra’s appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside a narrow desert gorge.

    Traditional way through the Siq (Canyon) guided tour through the Siq to the Treasury. We will visit the Treasury, city center, the Royal tomb, and the theater, the High Place of Sacrifice and the Roman soldier tombs, the Monastery and many others.

    Transfer to Wadi Rum for Dinner & Overnight

  • Day 6: Wadi Rum – Aqaba:

    Today we will drive to and explore Wadi Rum. Here we expect Verreaux`s Eagle, Sooty Falcon, Sinai Rosefinch, Tristrams Starling, White-crowned Wheatear, Mourning Wheatear, Hooded Wheatear, possibly a House Bunting, and many more.

    Head to Aqaba for overnight

  • Day 7: Aqaba:

    Explore Aqaba town for warblers and passerines. We will also visit the sewage works as it is a huge attraction to various waders, gulls, and waterfowl as well as the Red Sea coast for White-eyed Gull and possibly Brown Booby.

  • Day 8 Aqaba – Fifa Reserve – Dead Sea:

    After Breakfast, we will depart Aqaba and transfer to Fifa Nature Reserve

    Lying between the southern tips of the Dead Sea and Wadi Araba, the Fifa Nature Reserve is one of the few remaining natural breeding habitats of the Dead Sea Sparrow. The area contains fresh-water streams and snippets of sub-tropical vegetation, making it a stop for migrating birds. In addition to the Dead Sea Sparrow and Sand Partridge, the Nubian Nightjar, Little Green Bee-eaters, shrikes, waders and ducks may be spotted.

    Continue to the lowest point on earth the Dead Sea!

  • Day 9: Dead Sea - Departure:

    After Breakfast have some free time before Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure
