The ancient city of Jerash, built about 6500 years ago, the maximum brightness known under the Roman Imperial and its ruins are recognized as being among the best preserved in the world.

Hidden for centuries under the sand, the city was revealed and was restored the '70s. Jerash is an example of Roman urbanization in the Middle East, consisting of columns and cobblestone streets, temples, theaters, baths, fountains bordered by urban walls with towers and gates.

Besides to Jerash Greco-Roman style can be perceived a fine combination of East and West. Architecture, religion and language reflects a complex process of cultural cohabitation between two great powers of those times; the Greco-Romanian Mediterranean Basin and the ancient traditions of the Arabian Orient.
